On The Edge has been available for a YEAR now and I think it's time for an updated cover! Although the original cover is unique in its own way, I thought a brighter, fresher cover would be a great contrast to the darkness contained inside the book.
As you can see the lady is standing on the edge of a cliff. This is a great representation of standing on the edge of mental illness. Being on the verge of losing control and not knowing how to stop it.
The yellow balloon represents happiness and a sense of "control" or "normalcy" if you will.
As someone with mental illness, I can relate to striving for "normalcy" or "control" over my illness. Anyone who knows what it's like to feel out of control in your own mind knows how helpless you feel. You just want it to stop, gain some sense of self and stop the war.
Like one of the poems in On The Edge says:
"I am in war with someone
Someone no one can see
I am in war with someone
and that someone is me. "
As someone with mental illness you battle with yourself every day. A battle that is not easily won. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental illness, please know you are not alone. You can win the war and you can live a long happy life.

Don't Call Us Dead
Apocalyptic Poetry
The year is 2080 and life as we know it is changing. A highly contagious sickness is in the air. Humans have been instructed to wear a mask and gloves when in contact with other humans. This sickness is unlike anything the CDC has ever encountered before. There is no cure and no vaccine to ward off these infections. The illness spreads quickly, causing every state, region and country to be put into quarantine. Along with the illness, the climate is rapidly changing, causing mass destruction in its wake. These are first-hand accounts of this terrible epidemic. (In poetry form)
